Put On Your Thinking Caps
Posted in Parenting on 25. Aug, 2009
As I was parked outside of Wal-Mart last night waiting for my husband, I sat and told stories to my kids in the car. Thankfully, they were pretty entertained by Noah and the Ark. However, I have been in many, many situations where my kids have been, well, less than entertained. I was browsing Real Simple’s website today for some new ideas, and I came across a great post on creative ways to entertain kids. My personal favorite that they suggest is for kids ages 3 and up:
“One player says, ‘I’m thinking of an animal that…,’ and gives a clue (‘…has fur’). The next person tries to guess what the animal is (‘A bear?’). If the guess is wrong, the ‘it’ person repeats the clue and gives an additional one. (‘No, that’s not the animal I’m thinking of. My animal has fur and whiskers.’) And so on. The winner gets to be ‘it’ next.”
