Save Time in the Morning – Label Clothes
Posted in Your Home on 04. Oct, 2009

Getting ready in the morning can be pretty time consuming, and I’m always brainstorming ways to cut corners and make things easier. One thing in particular that I run into are arguments regarding clothes. Even though my two daughters are young, they still have strong preferences about what to wear each day. This sometimes involves changing their minds based on what the other one is wearing, or noticing something that is hanging up clean that they didn’t see earlier. Regardless of the reason, picking out clothes takes longer than it should some days.
Not only do my daughters spend a lot of time picking out outfits, but I find myself doing the same. I’ll stare at my closet, trying to put together a shirt with pants, and somehow drawing a blank. Or I’ll reach for a sweater and realize I wore it two days earlier – so I start over again. Meanwhile, I still need to eat breakfast and am going to be late for the preschool drop-off.
I came across this post which suggests using tags to label your clothes. You can spend a few minutes at the beginning of the week, choose outfits for your kids (and yourself!) and label them for each day. This not only cuts down on the time you spend thinking about what goes with what, but you also prevent arguments from the kids.
