Set the Tone with Great Music for Kids
Posted in Your Home on 11. Oct, 2009
I love to have music playing during the day with the kids. Every week when we enjoy our Friday Morning Pancakes, we listen to one of the volumes of “Classic Disney,” which my kids and I love. I also play plenty of other kid music, as well as stuff for grown-ups (my kids love Coldplay and Counting Crows).
I know in my head that music can really set the tone for your day, and influence your mood. It makes sense that this applies to kids as well, though I don’t always take this into account. Sure, I’ll play lullabies in the car when we’re leaving someplace right before naptime, in hopes to wind them down. And if they want to dance and run around, I have silly music for that. However, I don’t think I’ve really considered using music to make our mornings run more smoothly. It certainly makes sense, but until I read this post below I hadn’t given it much thought.
Check out this post from Momicillin. I found it interesting, and I like her recommendations. I’m particularly interested in the idea of listening to jazz with my kids.
