As a mom, it seems I am surrounded by a never ending to-do list. Laundry, dishes, meals, general clean-up, organizing projects, phone calls… the list goes on and on.

I recently started yoga, and I absolutely love it. I find myself sitting up straighter, feeling more attractive, and seem to be more relaxed lately. It was surprisingly easy to get into; all I did was buy a DVD, a mat, and yoga pants. I do the DVD for about 30 minutes (I’ll eventually build up to the 50 minute routine, but want to go slow at first), and I feel refreshed and energized afterwards. Yoga is awesome!

Happy New Year! Today marks a day of new beginnings, plans for the coming year, and New Year’s Resolutions for many folks. I get excited when I think about my New Year’s Resolutions, since it gives me some extra motivation to tackle things I’ve put on the back burner throughout the year. However, as much as I enjoy making New Year’s Resolutions, I often have a hard time sticking to them.

I love having people over. One thing I try and remember is that being a good host is about so much more than mini-quiches, a spotless house, or having some amazing craft for all of the kids to do. Being a good host is about making people feel comfortable in your house.

It’s Christmastime! Everywhere we look there are people out Christmas shopping, going to parties, and preparing for the holidays. One of the things that surprised me about breastfeeding was just how thirsty it made me! I was prepared to feel extra hungry and tired, but didn’t expect to be toting around a huge water bottle everywhere.

I recently decided that I’m going to commit to doing my Pilates DVD for 30 minutes each day at nap time. I’ve been frustrated the past few weeks because it seems that somehow, I’ve let exercise fall off of my priority list. Instead of pulling out the exercise DVD at nap time, I’ve been pulling [...]

We all have those moments. Whether it’s sleep deprivation, too much on our plates, or a particularly rough moment during the day – we find ourselves frustrated and angry. Having little kids can be hard sometimes, and we moms are only human. Whether you work outside of the home and have to juggle all sorts of priorities, or are a stay-at-home mom who feels swamped by motherhood – it can be challenging sometimes. Temper tantrums out in public, battles of the will over broccoli, and the pressure of always being “on” are enough to make most people frazzled at best.

It’s fun to find that perfect gift for your loved one and bring it home to wrap… but sometimes it’s even more meaningful to make something yourself.

I absolutely love Etsy, and can often find some pretty amazing stuff there. I thought I would compile a few of my favorite things for those of you who are pregnant (or know someone who is expecting). Whether you’re dropping hints for your husband, or buying a gift for a pregnant friend or family member, here are a few great gift ideas from Etsy this season.
