As moms, we are always on the go. We hit the ground running - fix the kids’ breakfast, get them dressed, throw in a load of laundry, play with Legos, change a diaper, unload the dishwasher, read them a book, answer the phone, switch the laundry… and this is all before noon! It’s exhausting just [...]
Sometimes I lounge lazily in bed, in the middle of the day, with a couple of my kids and just abandon my worldly concerns, and just play. Or I’ll sit and just watch them play, pretending they’re superheros or princesses or playing house or shooting each other with stick guns. It never fails to leave me with a sense of wonder, of pure joy, of a return to innocence and a simpler time. As grown ups, we’ve lost this childlike sense of life.
Gee, I wonder why we moms are stressed all the time? Could it be lack of sleep, too much to do, and everyone needing something?
I get stressed out plenty. I know that I need to recharge my batteries once the little things start driving me crazy, but sometimes I’m not sure where to [...]
I think most of us are torn between the image we have in our heads of how clean we think our house should be, and how clean it actually is. When I only had one child, it was much easier to keep my house clean and organized, and it didn’t seem like much of [...]
[Editor's note: Thanks to Leo Babauta for his post on learning to relax and enjoy yourself. I find this article especially helpful, as I often struggle with attempting to get way too much done at the expensive of my sanity!]

There’s too much emphasis these days on productivity, on hyperefficiency, [...]
Do you ever feel like you don’t have time for yourself? I think we all do! Real Life Solutions posted something that I would love to share. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I have a to-do list and a planner that I would be lost without. I just love going down [...]
A friend of mine is coming over in a bit for a play date with her two kids. Am I picking up my house before they come over? No, I’m blogging about why I (and you) should not clean up before a playdate. I used to get spun up about having people come over, running [...]
We’ve all had those days. The kids woke up on the wrong side of the bed, came into your room, and pulled you out of bed (also on the wrong side, apparently). Nothing is going right, and everyone is just bugging each other. Here are some sure fire ways to get out of that funk, and hit the restart button on your day.
We’ve all been there. The perpetual ponytail, the sweats, and the deer-in-the-headlights expression that comes with no sleep. It’s hard being a mom, and even harder when you feel like just a mom. Somewhere, in the midst of dirty diapers, grocery shopping with a toddler, and playing Candy Land for the umpteenth time… is you. [...]
I can’t get enough of this book. My husband bought it for me for Christmas, and it’s still on my nightstand being read over and over again. Even if I just pick it up for five minutes when I go to bed, it is a good boost of encouragement, validation, and humor. Can I say [...]
